Naming Standard

The naming standard is currently changing. It may take a few releases until all objects are aligned. The current naming standard will be as follows:

--procedures
[dbo].[usp_logger_disk_utilisation]
[dbo].[usp_logger_performance]
[dbo].[usp_maintenance_retention]
[dbo].[usp_config_database]
--tables
[dbo].[tbl_logger_disk_utilisation_database]
[dbo].[tbl_logger_perf_os_memory_clerks]
[dbo].[tbl_config_snapshot_type]
[dbo].[tbl_config_database]
--views
[dbo].[vw_report_performance_counters]
--jobs
SQLWATCH-LOGGER-DISK-UTILISATION

The naming standard roughly means:

“object type” (usp, vw, ufn)
“module” (logger, maintenance, config)
“what” (performance data, disk utilisation, retention)
“any extra bits”
